Chestnut Class is a vibrant and happy place with exploration and nurture at it's core.

As such, the children take part in many areas of outdoor learning. These include:

PE - Monday

Forest School - Whole  class Forest School on Wednesday. 

Because we spend a lot of time outdoors, please can I ask that you provide Wellies for Forest School / Gardening and a warm coat for Autumn and Winter. 

Reading books are sent home daily with a view to practising fluency. The books are changed every Monday but we like to hear the children read as much as possible so these will need to be brought into school everyday. 

Word tins - Your child will have a word tin. It should contain 5 words that your child will need to learn to read and spell. These are changed every week after the review on Friday. 

We do hope you will support your child's learning. If you listen to your child read please make a note in their home school communication books. Stars are awarded to readers daily.
